Editing pages in the builder

The builder is where you write a page and lay it out. Open it from Website → Pages → Edit.

The panels

  • Pages: every page. Click one to switch to it, or add, reorder, delete or Set as homepage.
  • Page settings: the page's Title, Permalink, Layout and Status (published or draft), plus its SEO title, description and social image (cropped to 1200 × 630).
  • Sections: the blocks of content the page is made of, from top to bottom.

The preview shows the page as visitors will see it. Switch between Desktop, Tablet and Mobile, and use Undo and Redo.

Writing the page's text

Select the page's text section to write in the text editor. The text belongs to the page, not its layout, so it stays when you switch layout or theme. If a layout has no section for the page's text, someone who manages themes can add one.

Sections and blocks

With the Manage themes permission, you can also change the page's sections: click Add section, drag sections to reorder them, select one to change its settings and blocks, or remove it. Each section can have an animation: see Customizing your theme.

Layouts

A page's Layout is its starting set of sections, from your theme's page templates (for example "Page", "Contact" or "About"). Switching layout replaces the page's sections with the new layout's; Undo brings them back.

Once you change a page's sections, the page keeps its own layout. Reset to template puts it back on the template's sections, following the template from then on.

Saving and publishing

Click Save to keep your changes as a draft, then Publish to put them live. Leaving with unsaved changes asks you first.
