Where Mattersimple is available

Mattersimple serves law firms in the United States and in Canada, except Quebec. Every firm says where it practises when it signs up, and confirms it.

What your firm confirms

  • Country: the United States or Canada.
  • State (US) or Province or territory (Canada). Quebec is listed so you can see it isn't available, but it can't be chosen.
  • That your firm is based in and practises from that place, and not from Quebec.

You can change your state or province later under Location and currency in General settings. You can change your country there too, until you connect Stripe for online payments.

If you're asked to confirm your location

Firms that signed up before locations were required see a Confirm your firm's location page instead of their dashboard. Anyone with the Update firm settings permission (the owner always has it) picks the country and state or province, ticks the confirmation and clicks Confirm location. Until then, other members see a waiting page. They can still reach My account, notifications and Support.

If your firm's Stripe account was opened in a country Mattersimple doesn't serve, your country can't be changed. Contact support.

Online payments

When you connect Stripe, Mattersimple checks the business address Stripe verified. If it's outside the United States and Canada, or in Quebec, online payments stay off. Everything else keeps working, and you can still record payments by hand. See Online payments.
