Your trial and choosing a plan

The free trial#

Every firm starts with a free trial, with every feature switched on. Firm settings → Subscription shows how many days are left and the date it ends. Choose a plan before then to keep using Mattersimple.

Plans#

Every plan includes matters, contacts, calendar, tasks, documents, time and invoicing. Plans differ in the extra features they include:

• Website: your public site, themes and pages.
• Blog (only on plans with the website).
• Client portal.
• Online payments.
• Conflict checks.

Prices are per seat: see Seats and billing. There's no free plan.

A plan provided by Mattersimple#

Some firms are given their plan directly by Mattersimple, for example on a special arrangement. Firm settings → Subscription then shows the plan as Provided by the platform, with its end date if it has one, and no plans to choose from. Contact Mattersimple support to change it.

Choose a plan#

You need the Manage subscription permission.

1. Open Firm settings → Subscription.
2. Choose monthly or yearly billing.
3. Click Choose {plan} on the plan you want and complete checkout.

Choosing a plan ends the trial and starts billing straight away. If the plan doesn't show as yours yet when you return, Stripe is still confirming it: refresh the page in a moment.

Change plan#

On a paid plan, click Switch to {plan}, or Switch to yearly billing (or monthly) on your current plan. If your card needs updating, do that in Manage billing first.

Moving to a plan without a feature switches it off: for example, your site goes offline without the website, and clients can't sign in without the client portal. Your data is kept, and comes back if you move to a plan that includes it again.
