Reviewing results and closing a check
Review the matches
Each search lists its matches with where they were found and any Related matters. Give each match a Review status:
- Unreviewed: not looked at yet.
- Review required: needs a closer look or someone else's opinion.
- Conflict: a real conflict.
- No conflict: not a problem.
Select several matches and use Mark as… to set them at once, and add a Note to any match to explain your decision. Each search's status follows from its matches: No matches, or the most serious status among them.
Set the overall status
When you've reviewed everything, set the check's Overall conflict status: Conflict, No conflict, Review required or Undetermined. You set this yourself; it isn't worked out from the matches.
Close and get the report
Click Close and generate report. A check can't be closed while its overall status is Unreviewed. Closing:
- creates a PDF Report of every search and its results, kept with the check;
- freezes the check: its results can't be reviewed any more;
- if the overall status is No conflict and the check is linked to a matter, records the date the matter's conflict check was completed (if it isn't set already).
After closing
- Reopen a closed check to review it again.
- Archive a check you no longer need in the list; Unarchive brings it back.
- Search again re-runs an open check against your current records, keeping the reviews of matches it still finds.
- Duplicate copies every search into a new check, for instance to search the same names again later.
A check's searches can't be changed once it has run: duplicate it to change them. Every change is listed in the check's History.
